【Functions and features】
Besides providing standard functions by following the traditional PC requirements on keyboard and mouse interface, we also provide customization supports per customer's requirement, including internal mouse (like TouchPad) and external PS/2 keyboard and mouse.
Usually used hotkeys are supported by Byosoft EC firmware. We also support customized hotkeys, for example, customers can customize a hotkey for turning on/off a built-in mouse or all sorts of external devices(Wireless LAN/GPS/Bluetooth/3G etc.).
ACPI Spec 2.0 is fully supported. Users can adjust the system status per needs, from working mode to sleep mode or vice versa, to maximally save the energy. At the same time, entering sleep mode or adjusting screen brightness by hotkey is also supported.
Working together with hardware to protect charging and discharging of batteries, and at same time it can read the battery’s information and take different protection measures, such as discontinuing the charging process, making the system enter sleep mode or powering it off. It ensures that the battery can work normally in circumstances of high temperature or low temperature. EC firmware also provides interfaces, users can design their own software to manage and protect batteries via these interfaces.
Byosoft EC firmware supports the monitoring of processor temperature, mainboard temperature and graphics card temperature, and protects these components and increases the service lift of the system. For example, when the temperature is high, the EC firmware will lower the frequency of the processor shutdown the device.
Byosoft EC firmware supports smart fan control based on different processor temperatures, which greatly reduces the noises and power consumption without compromises of system performance. Byosoft EC firmware also provides interfaces for users to design software to monitor processor temperature and fan revolving speed.
Byosoft EC firmware supports digital keyboard indicator light (NumLk LED), capital indicator light(CapsLk LED), scroll indicator light(ScrLk LED), power light, dormant light, battery indicator display and user customized indicator light.
Byosoft EC firmware supports the use of D/A to control related external components, such as charging controlling chips.
Byosoft EC firmware supports the use of A/D to monitor system voltage and current to guarantee the normal operation of the system.
EC chips provide rich GPIO base pins. Byosoft EC firmware can control GPIO to complete more customized functions based on clients’ needs.
Byosoft EC firmware supports consumer infrared(CIR) function; it supports protocols including RC-5/RC-6/NEC/RLC.
Byosoft EC firmware supports SMBUS Spec 2.0. Based on customers’ needs, it can connect SMBUS devices to fulfill more customized functions.
